The championship was played on June 13-16 at the Pinehurst No. 2 Resort & Country Club’s Course No. 2, in the village of Pinehurst, NC. Thousands of golfers competed around the US, Canada, England, and Japan to qualify for a final field of 156 players meeting at Pinehurst.
Millions of viewers, including thousands of leaders in the sports industries from high school through professional leagues, watched. This was the third time the United States Professional Golf Association had employed Nets of Texas for the US Open.
